The iOS 14 and iPadOS 14 beta builds from Apple are relatively stable compared to the buggy mess that the iOS 13 builds were last year. This can be attributed to a change in internal strategy at Apple which put an increased focus on stability. However, iOS 14 beta builds are not exactly perfect and they do have some bugs and issues. If you run into some of the common ones, below are steps that you can follow to mitigate the problem.

One thing you must note is that none of the steps below are going to be foolproof. You are still going to run into various issues that are going to act as a reminder that you are running a beta OS build on your iPhone. As Apple releases more beta builds of iOS 14 though, most of the issues that you face should be fixed.

Wi-Fi and Mobile Network Connectivity Issue

If you can’t charge your iPhone or iPad, whether it’s the latest iPhone 7 or iPad Pro, or an older iPhone 4 or iPad Air, there’s a lot you can try on your own before contacting Apple for help. Sure, sometimes it’s a hardware problem with the Lightning or Dock connector or the battery, but often enough it’s a software issue that a few simple steps can fix. If so, follow along and we’ll get you back up and battery running in no time!

1. Force a restart

If your iPhone or iPad won’t charge, one of the first and easiest things to try is a forced restart. Make all the “reboot Windows” jokes you want but sometimes bad bits get stuck and need to be flushed out. To force a restart:

Press and hold down the Sleep/Wake button on the right side (iPhone 6 or later) or top (all other iPhones, iPods, and iPads) of your device.
While continuing to hold the Sleep/Wake button, press and hold the Home button (iPhone 6s or older) or the Volume Down button (iPhone 7 or newer).
Hold both buttons as the screen turns off, and keep holding them until the screen turns back on and displays the Apple logo.

2. Switch outlets or ports

Funny as it sounds, sometimes outlets or USB ports just don’t work. That’s especially true if you’re plugging into a wall or computer you’ve never plugged into before. It can also happen if an electrical or other problem occurs in your regular outlet or port.

So, make sure you try plugging into a different outlet or USB port and see if your iPhone or iPad starts to charge. If it does, you’re good. If not, keep reading.

3. Switch cables

Like outlets, cables can fail. Sometimes they get chewed up by the wear and tear of travel or even household life. Other times, especially for third party cables, defects catch up with them. Google saves your settings and some app content to its cloud, but third-party programs may give you a more complete backup.

Q. How do you automatically back up an Android device without a computer, and where do the files live?

A. Google includes a native backup service in the standard Android system that stores copies of your settings and other data on its servers. The backup feature may already be enabled, depending on how you set up your phone or tablet. Open the Settings icon and tap the Backup or Backup & Reset icon to see.

Many of Android’s default apps and services — like Gmail, Google Calendar and Google Contacts — are based in the cloud. When the automatic backup is enabled, your settings and other data for those services are copied; third-party apps and music from Google Play and Google Music are also backed up through your Google Account. We have noticed an influx of iPhone 7 and 7 plus coming in with either the earpiece and mic not working, speaker not working in short all sorts of problems with audio also rebooting in some cases to the Apple logo which is also related to an Audio problem with your iPhone 7, 7+ and this is usually caused by a sharp drop, not necessarily meaning you have broken your screen or dropped it of the top of a house, a small drop on a flat services from a few inches can cause this fault.

There is a very common fault in the iPhone 7 family called audio disease or audio ic failure. This issue usually starts with a phone taking a very long time to boot (sometimes 5 minutes) and intermittent problems with hearing people and people hearing you on the phone.

As the fault develops further the speaker phone option will be greyed out, voice memos won’t work and sometimes the phone will get stuck on the apple logo.

The fault develops due to flexion of the mother board near the sim reader, which just like touch disease on the iPhone 6 Plus is caused by tracks being damaged. The fault often develops after the phone is dropped or bent and can often arise after your screen breaks.

Solution

This can all be resolved by removing the audio ic, repairing the broken tracks and rebuilding the missing pads.

“My iPhone started rebooting randomly a month ago and now it won’t turn on at all but sometimes it boots up to the “Connect to iTunes screen.”

Recently at Phone Geeks, we started seeing our customers coming with this exact issue with iPhone X XR XS models, and all of them don’t have any apparent damage that left our clients wondering what have might happen to their devices.

The Cause.

If you got the hint from the image, then you are correct its liquid damage again, but very minimum. No surprise the widespread idea that the new iPhones are waterproof is the culture here. When the truth is most Smart Phones are just water-resistant and not fully waterproof. and in response that makes users more relaxed around water or liquid in general when using their iPhones.

What happens is in most cases the moisture slips into the face id portion through the earpiece port and corrodes the solder electronic connections under the component which over time puts your phone on a full shut down mode and give you the restore image which can result in data loss which we try to prevent by replacing the damaged part before user click by accident on restore instead of update.

Solution.

Luckily our Techs at Phone Geeks were able to fix that issue in most cases by getting rid of the built-up corrosion and restoring the phone to fully working again and preserving both data and face id function and in top of that we add a proofing mask to help prevent this from happening again ( you are welcome apple ), and at the other situation we replaced the whole part but this will render face id not working, But you get your phone working again.
